2-Day or 1-Day Botanical Print Workshop:   Saturday and Sunday May 6th - May 7th  10:00 - 5:00pm.  Taught by Award Winning Seattle Fiber Artist, Hilary Hutchinson Grant!

 Hilary Hutchinson Grant has studied the botanical and ECO printing techniques of fiber artist Kristy Kun of Oregon and Olga Kazanskaya of Russia and in June she will be taking a 5 day workshop with Irit Dulman of Israel. She has been experimenting with various techniques of eco and botanical printing and is here to teach us how to obtain beautiful clear and crisp leaf prints using natural and acid dyes as well as mordants and modifiers. On the first day we will start by using plain silk and progress to using silk with mordants and modifiers. On the second day we will continue with our experiments by learning a technique called Medium Printing where we add color over the leaf prints.

Tuition: $200 plus $100 for supplies for the two day class or $110 plus $50 for supplies for a one day class (you will go home with completed samples, silk scarves and a handout) 

Bring: Your imagination, rubber gloves, leaves you might want to try, a plastic bag to take your wet scarves home in and don’t forget to your lunch. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting wet or stained. Hilary will bring silk material and scarves, natural and acid dyes, leaves and equipment.
