Create a Nuno Felted Ruffle Scarf - ** New Date ** Friday, May 5th 10 - 5:00pm. Award Winning Seattle Fiber Artist, Hilary Hutchinson-Grant is back to teach this class!
Hilary is known for her wet felted scarves and she is here to teach us how to make her signature Nuno felted ruffle scarf. Nuno felting is a process where wool fiber migrates through the weave of a fabric and bonds to the fabric during the process of felting and fulling. Felting equipment, fiber, silk gauze, and a handout is included in the supply fee.
This class is suitable for advanced beginners, and experienced felters. Felting requires some strength and ability to stand at a table to work. We will break for lunch (lunch on your own) and we will have plenty of time to make a scarf.
Class size is limited to 6 students. Tuition: $90 for the class, plus $45 fee for supplies ($135 total). Hurry, you must signup by April 24th in order for us to order supplies!! Sorry no refunds after April 15th.
Bring: Your imagination, an old bath towel, a small bowl, a large sponge, a plastic bag to take your wet scarf home in, and bring your lunch if you choose to eat in. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you don't mind getting wet. If you have your own felting supplies feel free to bring them as well. Also, please tell us your color preference so that we will have enough fiber in your favorite color. Hilary will bring premium Pacific Northwest hand dyed fiber with her and silk gauze in either white or black.
